Hey there!

Who, what and why?

I am Laura –  Product Designer, with a background in graphic design and photography.

In visual design I highly value the content delivered for users. As we are emerged with beautiful visuals around us daily, I believe, my purpose as a designer under today’s circumstances, is to figure out the problem we want to solve. Therefore I start by asking why and for who.

The great drift and why it was necessary?

When I began my career as a graphic designer 15 years ago, the field of user experience design wasn’t as widely recognized as it is today. My path led me to complete a BA and MA in Fine Art and Photography, where I used research-driven methodologies to study and express other people’s stories. During this time, I participated in various residencies and initiated international projects and exhibitions through the universities. I also worked as a teacher and mentor, organizing events, courses, and collaborations. These experiences have made me highly driven and self-motivated, teaching me to balance academic rigor with staying grounded, and how to navigate between emotional and rational decisions in my work.

what sparks your fire?

The transition to UX/UI design felt like a natural progression. It brought together two of my passions: creative design and collaborating with others to build something meaningful. Over the years, I’ve worked on a variety of projects, from web design and mobile apps to brand design. I believe great design should always be user-centered and focused on solving real-world problems. I draw inspiration from patterns in nature and human-made systems, and I use my background in art history along with current design trends to create balanced, aesthetically pleasing solutions.
